7-Keto-DHEA also known as 7-Keto, 7-ketodehydroepiandrosterone, or 7-oxodehydroepiandrosterone, is a steroid produced by metabolism of the prohormone DHEA.7-keto is a naturally occurring byproduct of DHEA that is produced in the adrenal glands, brain and skin.7-Keto is not directly converted to testosterone or estrogen, and has thus been investigated as a potentially more useful relative of DHEA. It is often used as the acetate ester prodrug 7-Keto-DHEA acetate.There are about 150 DHEA metabolites, and 7-keto seems to be one of the most valuable among them. 7-keto DHEA may enhance immune function, decrease muscle loss, decrease stress, increase metabolic rate and accelerate weight loss in healthy adults.7-Keto DHEA is a metabolite of Serum DHEA and it appears to be a fat loss agent as it may increase the metabolic rate.And The World Anti-Doping Agency lists 7-keto DHEA as a prohibited anabolic agent.

7-keto DHEA has clinically been shown to increase metabolism and contribute to healthy weight loss. One way that 7-keto contributes to weight loss is by increasing the activity of thermogenic enzymes responsible for fatty acid oxidation. 7-Keto is marketed as a dietary supplement with the implication that it may accelerate weight loss, increase metabolism, enhance memory, or prevent age-related changes.
